A LAN doesn't start when the first match fires up. It starts when someone texts the group chat: "what time are you getting there?"

That question kicks off a coordination chain. Who's driving. Who's flying in the night before. Who needs a ride from the airport. Who's staying at the hotel, who's crashing with friends, who's doing the day trip. Every LAN crew figures this out, usually across three apps and a spreadsheet that's out of date by Thursday.

We built the trip planner to put that in one place. Today it gets better.

Travel dates

Set your arrival and departure. Your squad sees when everyone is showing up—no more asking around.

Event context

Event start and end are shown alongside your travel so you can plan around the schedule, not guess at it.

Squad coordination

Travel dates are shared with your squad by default. See who overlaps, spot conflicts, figure out rides.

The trip editor now has a Travel section at the top. Two fields: when you're arriving, when you're leaving. If the trip is tied to an event, those pre-fill from the event dates so you're not starting from scratch.

Your squad can see your travel dates alongside theirs. That's the point—knowing who's there when makes everything else easier. Carpools, dinner plans, setup help, airport pickups. The stuff that turns a tournament into a trip.

The setup wizard got faster

When you create a trip, the wizard now asks about travel first—arriving and departing, pre-filled from the event schedule. Lodging, gear, and custom schedule blocks still follow. You can skip anything you're not ready to fill in yet.

Arriving early?

Your arrival doesn't have to match the event start. Set it to when you're actually getting there—Thursday night before a Friday event, for example. That's useful information for your crew.

Still your plan

A trip is personal. Your itinerary, your checklist, your calendar export. Squads let you share what's useful (travel dates, group schedule blocks) while keeping your own packing list and private notes to yourself.

The itinerary still supports custom blocks for everything that isn't arrival or departure—dinner reservations, side events, sightseeing, "set up my rig." Those work the same as before, with Squad or Only Me visibility.

Why this matters

In surveys of North American gamers, 42% said they'd travel at least an hour to an event. Distance and transport were the top barriers after "not enough events near me." The trip planner won't shorten the drive, but it can take the coordination tax out of it. Less time planning logistics in group chats, more time actually going.

Calendar export

Your travel dates show up in the ICS calendar feed, so your arrival and departure land in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or whatever you use. Subscribe once, and updates sync automatically.

Open any trip from My trips, or create a new one from an event page. The Travel section is at the top of the editor.

If you're going to a LAN with friends, set up a squad and link your trips. Everyone sees the overlap.
